A recording of Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with an all-star cast: soprano Christine Brewer, mezzo-soprano Jane Henschel, tenor Anthony Dean Griffey, and bass-baritone Eric Owens, and the New York Choral Artists directed by Joseph Flummerfelt. The program also includes Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes by Weber.
A Tchaikovsky celebration! Conductor Anna Rakitina makes her Chicago Symphony Orchestra debut leading the orchestra in "Capriccio italien," the "Nutcracker" suite, and the Rococo variations with soloist Alisa Weilerstein.
Anthony Gill conducts the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra Anthony McGill and is the clarinet soloist in clarinet concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Boulogne, Chevalier de Saint George. The program also includes Benjamin Britten’s Sinfonietta.
Robert Aubry Davis explores the sources and mainstreams of European music for the thousand years before the birth of Bach.
Michael Barone hosts this program featuring music from the diverse repertoire for the organ Mondays at 11 am.
